Curator’s Note

Thirty-two Amazon Echo devices — eight first-generation, twelve third-generation, and twelve Echo Show 10 units — are mounted in a gilded limewood structure modeled on a late Gothic winged altarpiece, with hinged side panels that close over the device array. All units are registered to a single Amazon account and respond to questions. Their answers are drawn from Amazon's own corporate communications, press releases, and annual reports. The account is named 'Alexa.'
