Curator’s Note

The painting depicts a female allegorical figure in the tradition of Cesare Ripa's Iconologia (1593): standing in contrapposto, draped in white and gold, with specific attributes identifying the concept she embodies. She carries a laurel wreath woven from printed stock charts; her scales hold quarterly earnings reports; the sword at her side is bundled bearer shares tied with a red ribbon. The studio has stated the work is sincere.
